Lalito 10, scored by David Majzlin and directed by Jordan Horowitz, has won Best Documentary Short at the Santa Barbara Film Festival!
The film follows a teacher in Guatemala who built a classroom on wheels to bring education directly to his students when COVID-19 forced his school to close.
David said “this is what indie filmmaking is all about – a director reads about an extraordinary individual, flies alone to a foreign country in the middle of a pandemic and comes back with a lovely portrait of a teacher with a huge heart.”
Lalito 10 has also been officially selected to screen at Cinequest Film Festival, Phoenix Film Festival, and Cleveland International Film Festival.
