Roger Neill has two projects debuting in May: Valley Girl and JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales.
Roger scored Orion Classics’ latest film Valley Girl, which releases on digital platforms May 8th. The film, directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, is the much anticipated musical adaptation of the 1983 cult classic. Julie (played by both Alicia Silverstone and Jessica Roth), is the “ultimate ‘80s valley girl- that is, until she falls hard for Randy (Josh Whitehouse), a Sunset Strip punk rocker who challenges everything she stands for.” Screenrant stated that “both the original Valley Girl and the remake are twists on Romeo and Juliet, but the remake does have one more trick up its sleeve: It is a Juke Box musical, filled with 80’s hits like We Got The Beat and Take On Me.”Roger also scored JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales, premiering on Adult Swim May 10th. Written and executive produced by J.J. Villard (King Star King), the animated series is a twisted and fun take on classic The Brothers Grimm fairy tales that have been “updated and packaged into a ball of raw, visceral, gross weirdness” where Rapunzel uses her hair for violence, The Seven Dwarfs threaten to kill Snow White with an axe, and Little Red Riding Hood steals a helicopter. The show features a star-studded cast of voice talent including Linda Blair, Warwick Davis, Robert Englund, Cassandra Peterson, Corey Feldman, Maika Monroe, Jennifer Tilly, Finn Wolfhard and many more.
