God’s Time: World Premiere, US Narrative Competion. A heart-racing, NYC-set dark comedy that sees two best bros in recovery for addiction trying to prevent the potential murder of their mutual crush’s ex-boyfriend. Brian Jones and Timo Elliston (Composers):
Game Change Game: Game Change Game documents a tumultuous, and at times surreal, basketball season plagued by once unimaginable circumstances. Co-directors Maxime Quoilin and Spike Jordan provide unfettered access to the players union: examining the anxieties and hopes of the players through interviews, and even include first person footage from the subjects themselves. Quoilin and Jordan take us from the NBA bubble to the social uprisings of the Black Lives Matter movement, at a time when the personal could no longer be apolitical.

The Courtroom: After mistakenly registering to vote, a Filipina immigrant faces deportation and permanent separation from her American husband and newborn child. Using actual transcripts from the court hearing, The Courtroom is a dramatic reenactment of one woman’s harrowing experience with the US legal system. Directed by Lee Sunday Evans. Evolver: EVOLVER from Marshmallow Laser Feast is a collective virtual reality experience which drops audiences deep inside the landscape of the body, following the flow of oxygen through our branching ecosystem, to a single ‘breathing’ cell. Through this transcendental narrative, it becomes clear that breath not only sparks life, but also connects us to the natural world through the cycle of respiration.

Somewhere in Queens: World Premiere. An Italian-American dad from Queens gets increasingly involved in ensuring his son’s high school basketball success in Ray Romano’s directorial debut.
