    Congratulations Abel Korzeniowski, Fil Eisler, and Bruce Gilbert on your Hollywood Music in Media nominations!

    Fil received a nod for his fantastic score to FOX’s hit show Empire, Abel is nominated for both score and main title for his Emmy-nominated work on Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, and Bruce for his music supervision on Netflix’s hit show Orange is the New Black!

    The Hollywood Music in Media Awards is the only awards show specifically devoted to the celebration of music in visual media (film, TV, videogames, commercials and trailers). The award ceremony will take place in Hollywood on November 11.

    EMP clients Charlie Clouser, Fil Eisler and Alec Puro were winners at the 2015 BMI Film/TV Awards, held in Beverly Hills this week. The BMI Film/TV Awards, considered one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, honors the composers of the past year’s top-grossing films, top-rated prime-time network television series and highest-ranking cable network programs.

    Charlie Clouser was honored for his deliciously creepy theme to American Horror Story. Fil Eisler was recognized for his score on the breakout program of this year, Empire. And Alec Puro received honors for his work on the widely-popular family drama The Fosters.

    James Iha has joined Evolution Music Partners!

    James has had a prolific career as a singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer and mixer, and is now making strides in the scoring world. He was a founding member and songwriter for The Smashing Pumpkins and toured internationally with them for 13 years. During this time, they released ten albums and sold over 20 million copies in the U.S. alone. The Smashing Pumpkins are regarded as one of the most successful and groundbreaking bands of the 90’s. James later co-founded Scratchie Records, an indie label that has released albums by The Sounds, and The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr., as well as recording studios called Stratosphere Sound.

    After leaving The Smashing Pumpkins, James released two solo albums Let It Come Down and Look to the Sky. For the past several years, he has been the guitarist for the critically-acclaimed progressive rock band A Perfect Circle.

    James’ past scoring highlights include Canadian indie feature Luck, and Japanese indies Linda Linda Linda, and Kakera, and also the theme song to The Tesseract. He recently worked on Deadbeat, a Hulu original series starring Tyler Labine and Brandon T. Jackson. In addition to his scoring endeavors, James is currently co-writing for artists such as Scott Weiland and Dum Dum Girls. Stay tuned for more updates!

    Welcome Roger Neill and Laurent Eyquem – the newest members of the Evolution Music Partners family!

    Roger Neill‘s diverse body of work spans more than twenty feature films, hundreds of television episodes, video games, TV commercials, and even an operetta. His notable works include the Academy Award winning film Beginners (with David Palmer and Brian Reitzell), Roman Coppola’s A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III, Fox series King of the Hill, and most recently Mozart in the Jungle, the highly-acclaimed Amazon original pilot.     Only a few years after making his film scoring debut, French-born Laurent Eyquem has captured the attention of the international film music community. His scores to Winnie Mandela and Copperhead earned him a Discovery of the Year nomination at the 2013 World Soundtrack Awards and the title of Breakthrough Film Composer of the Year 2013 at the IMFCA Awards. Film Music Magazine also named Copperhead one of the Top Scores of 2013.     EMP’s own Christine Russell is executive producer of Beautiful, the Carole King Musical, which had its pre-Broadway premiere last week in San Francisco!

    Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.” (Official Site) The musical is studded with King-Goffin hits such as The Shirelles’ “Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” The Chiffons’ “One Fine Day” and The Drifters’ “Up on a Roof.” Russell met Goffin at Rondor Music and has represented him as an agent for nineteen years.

    Beautiful, The Carole King Musical has received 7 Tony Award Nominations, including Best Musical and Best Orchestrations by Steve Sidwell! Beautiful tell the inspiring true story of Carole King’s journey to stardom, from her early days in Brooklyn to becoming a chart-topping legend. It wasn’t until earlier this month that King herself saw the musical, surprising the entire cast by joining them onstage at curtain call.

    Chris Tyng is spreading his Grow Music Project vision through several upcoming panels, including “Know Your Place(ment): Inside Music Supervision” alongside John Anderson (Hunnypot), Cathy Heller (songwriter) and Jackie Shuman (Crush Management) at CMJ’s Music Marathon Conference, as well as the “Breaking With Tradition: DIY and What It Means for Artists and Entrepreneurs” with Peter Schwinge (New Music Seminar/Artists on the Verge), Adam Shore (Red Bull Academy), and Anina Moore (Texas Commission on the Arts) at the Billboard Film and TV Music Conference!

    Tyng created the Grow Music Project with a “pay it forward” attitude, setting out to provide emerging artists and bands with the resources they need. Tyng selects five artists from a pool of online applicants and invites them to his world-class studio for three days of mentorship and recording with industry veterans- all for free!

    Grow Music Project has also been featured on Billboard.com and the Santa Barbara Independent!
