Peymon Maskan
Music Supervisor
Peymon Maskan is a Los Angeles-based music supervisor and the founder of Radish Music, working across film, television, advertising, and immersive storytelling. A seven-time Guild of Music Supervisors Award winner, he is known for music supervision that combines strong cinematic instinct with deep knowledge of artist culture, licensing, and the emotional architecture of story.
Maskan’s recent film and television work includes Dev Patel’s Monkey Man, produced by Jordan Peele; Netflix’s A Man in Full, based on the Tom Wolfe novel and starring Jeff Daniels, Diane Lane, and Lucy Liu; Megan Park’s The Fallout, scored by Finneas O’Connell; Sam Hayes’ Pools; and Amy Landecker’s award-winning independent feature For Worse. He is also currently working on From the Edge, a forthcoming original Sphere production directed by Academy Award-winning filmmakers E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin.
Raised in Los Angeles by Iranian immigrant parents, Maskan came to music through culture, identity, and community as much as through taste. That background continues to shape his approach to music supervision. He is drawn to music that does more than support a scene. His work looks for the placement, score direction, or artist collaboration that can reveal character, heighten emotion, clarify tone, and give a project a distinct cultural point of view.
A graduate of USC’s film program, Maskan began his career in film music departments, working with music supervisor Dana Sano before earning his first credited role as music coordinator on Blue Crush. Over the next decade, he worked across more than 30 film and television projects, developing a practical and highly creative approach to music supervision. Many of those early projects required inventive thinking around limited budgets, which helped form his reputation for finding unexpected music solutions and identifying artists before they became obvious choices.
Before founding Radish Music, Maskan spent eight years at TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Apple’s longtime dedicated advertising agency, where he ultimately served as Global Music Director. His work there helped define the role of music in some of Apple’s most acclaimed campaigns, including the Emmy-winning holiday spot Misunderstood, featuring Cat Power; Stroll, which helped introduce Marian Hill’s “Down” to a global audience; Spike Jonze’s Welcome Home, featuring FKA twigs and Anderson .Paak; and Share Your Gifts, featuring an original song by Billie Eilish produced by Finneas O’Connell.
That advertising chapter remains central to Maskan’s creative identity, not as a separate lane but as an extension of his work in visual storytelling. At Apple and later through Radish, he built a track record for understanding how music can move through culture beyond the screen. His advertising work has helped launch or amplify music by artists including Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Thumpasaurus, Billie Eilish, Marian Hill, FKA twigs, Anderson .Paak, and others. His recent recognition includes Radish’s 2025 Guild of Music Supervisors Award win for Athleta’s Power of She.
In 2020, Maskan founded Radish Music to create a company that could move fluidly between independent film, studio projects, premium television, global advertising, and artist-driven cultural work. Radish brings together music supervision, clearance strategy, creative search, original music, artist relationships, and musicological rigor, with a flexible process built around the needs of each project.
Across his work, Maskan approaches music supervision as both a creative and strategic discipline. He works closely with directors, producers, editors, composers, artists, agencies, and studios to build music languages that feel specific to the world of the project. Whether supervising an independent feature, a limited series, a global campaign, or a large-format immersive production, his goal is consistent: to create music moments that feel authored, emotionally precise, and inseparable from the story.
